It was in the late 1980s that Mobilio's founders started seeing the potential of wireless-based applications - even before the foundation of the Internet, Wireless Cellular towers on every block and growth of handheld based devices. Many of our clients back then who were using our accounting and work order scheduling systems were saying to us that the problem with their business was not information contained within the corporate databases at head office, this information was easily accessible by all personnel within the facility..
The real issue was that the field-service personnel were disconnected from this environment and were involved in a labor-intensive, manual function to process their completed work via paper-based work orders. These visionary customers were asking us if there was a way to provide these technicians with a portable device that could be used to complete work orders electronically so that all this information could go to the office in “real-time” and “complete the loop” with accounting. Additionally, they were asking if there was a way that these devices could be used as a way for field-level technicians and dispatchers could be connected, allowing dispatchers to send work orders and for field technicians to be able to collect additional information about customers.
In the late 1980s this was a dream, but this dream became a reality with the advent of the Internet, Wirelessly enabled handheld devices, Fast & Secure cellular data networks and
Web based applications
Mobilio realized this possibility and launched our company back in 2001 to fulfill this dream. We have worked extremely hard at building a complete web-based and wireless service management application which provides a complete application for companies involved in field service.
